“Dad bods” have certainly had their moment in the sun in recent years, but that doesn’t mean you have to be okay with belly fat in all circumstances. There are benefits to fat eradication beyond improving your appearance, such as bolstering self-esteem and improving overall body health. If you’re not happy with your body, you have the right and means to change it.

Today on the Bella Vita blog, we want to talk about an especially effective way to get rid of stubborn belly fat: CoolSculpting® for men.

Women aren’t the only ones who develop hard-to-remove fat around their hips, midsections, and thighs. More and more men are turning to CoolSculpting® to freeze away stubborn fat with the number one fat reduction procedure.

Modern technology has made it simpler than ever to lose fat without going on a crazy diet or trying dozens of different treatments. There’s no reason to resign yourself to a life with fat that just won’t leave.

Ready to have a body that you love? Let’s talk about this latest method of freezing and removing fat cells.

How CoolSculpting® Works on Fat Tissue

How CoolSculpting Works

Let’s start by talking about how this process works. In the simplest of explanations, CoolSculpting® freezes fat cells until they crystallize and break down – without damaging other tissue. It’s an incredibly popular non-invasive treatment for men, used to remove fat bulges.

As far as cosmetic treatments go, this one is easy and painless. You’ll arrive at the CoolSculpting® location, then change into a robe. A trained clinician will apply the CoolSculpting® pads to your designated area. These pads will give your fat cells an intensely cold blast, which works to eradicate them.

This is known as the process of cryolipolysis. The roll of fat is placed between the two panels, then frozen and broken down.

The entire CoolSculpting® process takes about 3o minutes per treated area of the body. The more areas you decide to target, the longer it will take and the more treatments you’ll need to schedule.

The side effects of treatment are fairly minimal, but can include:

  • A strange tugging feeling at the treatment site
  • Small sensations of stinging or aching for up to two weeks post-treatment
  • Short-term redness, bruising, or skin sensitivity

An evaluation of patient satisfaction in Dermatological Surgery indicated that:

  • “No significant side effects or adverse events were reported.”
  • “The procedure was well-tolerated, with 89 percent of respondents reporting a positive perception of treatment duration and 96 percent reporting minimal to tolerable discomfort.”
  • “Survey results demonstrated 73 percent patient satisfaction.”
  • “82 percent of patients would recommend the cryolipolysis procedure to a friend.”

If you have any concerns about how CoolSculpting® might affect you, talk to a trained clinician or doctor. They’ll review the shortlist of possible side effects and advise you on how your body will likely react to the treatment.

What Kind of Fat Deposits Are Treatable with CoolSculpting®?

All men have different areas where they would most like to reduce fat. The great thing about CoolSculpting? It works in a number of locations on the body, including (but not limited to):

  • Flanks
  • Love handles
  • Chest (man boobs)
  • Abdomen (beer belly)
  • Back fat
  • Submental area (double chin)
  • Upper arms

Before and After CoolSculpting for Men

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared to treat all of the above areas, as well as lax tissue in submental areas. We predominantly see men who want to address fat in their abdomen/midsection, sides, or the submental area under their chins.

If you have a question about using CoolSculpting in a certain area, schedule a consultation to learn if it is possible.

The Best Candidates for CoolSculpting®

Male Assessment CoolSculpting

Most adult male patients make excellent candidates for CoolSculpting®. If you’re a man and you’ve been dealing with stubborn fat deposits that just won’t leave, regardless of exercise or diet, it’s time to learn what this method of body contouring can do for you.

Schedule an in-person consultation with a provider who can offer advice on how to reduce belly fat or target other problem areas. They will also go over your medical history to ensure you are a strong candidate for the treatment.

What Happens After the Procedure?

There is little (or no) recovery time with most CoolSculpting® procedures. The average male patient is able to resume his normal day-to-day activities immediately after or in the next 24 hours. Although minor redness and soreness can occur, it should not be limiting and will likely vanish within a week or two.

If you aren’t happy with the results of your CoolSculpting® immediately, know that typical fat removal results are reached after two or three months (up to 12 weeks). Even if you are only undergoing one procedure, the fat-flushing process takes time – up to six months after the first treatment.

After six months, if you still aren’t happy with your fat eradication, talk to your clinician. Additionally, treatment may be necessary to target a different area or get rid of more fat in the same area.

How Long CoolSculpting® Results Last

If you choose to go through this experience, you likely want to know that the results will last. The good news? This is a change for life.  After fat cells have been treated with CoolSculpting®, they’re gone for good.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t gain weight again. Your other fat cells still function normally, and they can grow or shrink as you gain or lose weight in the future. You’d be wise to develop a healthy lifestyle if you want to maintain the results from your procedure permanently.

The Cost of CoolSculpting®

The cost of CoolSculpting depends on a number of factors, including your geographic location, clinic, number of treatments, and your body contouring goals.

The more treatments you need to achieve your dream weight, the higher your price will climb. We recommend seeking a complimentary consultation with a professional to determine your exact CoolSculpting needs.

As a ballpark estimate, most CoolSculpting treatments wind up costing between $2,000 and $4,000. Because it is an “aesthetic” treatment, the procedure is not covered by your health insurance provider. However, some clinics/providers do offer payment plans – ask beforehand.
